(NC)—Getting ready to purchase auto insurance? Make sure you compare apples to apples when shopping for a policy. Too often, consumers don't know what they've purchased until it's too late – when they have to make a claim.
Here are some things to consider before buying your policy:
• Does the insurance provider offer 24 hour, seven day a week claims service?
• Does the company offer a valet service in your area? Valet service can bring a replacement vehicle to your home or your workplace or even the accident site where possible, and delivers your vehicle back to you when your repairs are complete.
• Does the provider offer an accident protection benefit, which forgives the driver for their first at-fault accident?
• Will you have access to deductible rewards coverage? Some companies, such as RBC Insurance, decrease your deductible by $50, for every year you are claim free, up to a maximum of $250.
